    HOT TIP

    WHY THIS ROCKS

You literally mash stuff, mix it, and cook it. No flour, no fancy stuff, just good honest ingredients you probably already have. Plus, it's cheap as chips and pretty hard to mess up.

    WHAT YOU NEED

    Total Estimate: $6-$8

    LET'S DO THIS

    1

Step 1: Grab a medium-sized bowl. Peel your two ripe bananas and chuck them in. Use a fork to mash them up until they're mostly smooth – a few lumps are totally fine, mate, adds character.

    2

Step 2: Crack the four eggs into the bowl with the mashed banana. Try not to get any shell in there – trust me, it's not a fun surprise.

    3

Step 3: Add the two scoops of protein powder to the bowl. This is where the 'bulk-up' part comes in!

    4

Step 4: Whisk everything together with your fork until it's all blended. It'll look a bit loose, that's normal. Don't stress about perfect smoothness.

    5

Step 5: Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add about half a tablespoon of oil and let it heat up for a minute. If you don't have a non-stick pan, go easy on yourself and add a bit more oil so they don't stick.

    6

Step 6: Pour about a quarter cup of the mixture per pancake into the hot pan. You should be able to fit 2-3 at a time, depending on your pan size. Don't make them too big or they'll be harder to flip.

    7

Step 7: Cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side, or until you see small bubbles forming on the surface and the edges look set. Use a spatula to carefully flip them over. If they look a bit sad and messy, don't worry, they'll still taste great!

    8

Step 8: Cook for another 1-2 minutes on the second side, until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining mixture, adding more oil if needed. SAFETY WARNING: Hot oil can splatter, stand back a bit when pouring the batter.

    9

Step 9: Stack 'em high on a plate! Drizzle with a bit of maple syrup if you're feeling sweet, or just eat them plain. Good job, legend, you just made pancakes!

psychologyPRO TIP FROM THE CHAOS GOBLINS

If your first pancake looks like a disaster, don't sweat it. The first one is always the 'tester' pancake. The rest will improve, I promise. Heat control is key – too hot and they'll burn, too cold and they won't cook.
